Scott
Sommerlatte is a fly fishing and hunting guide who works primarily
out of the Port OConnor/Seadrift area of Texas. He has
now been fishing and hunting these areas for 25 years and
guided his first trip of duck hunters to Matagorda Island
in 1989 and has also been guiding fly fishermen full time
for over a decade. In addition to fishing the coastal bend
(Matagorda to Rockport), Scott can sometimes be found guiding
anglers as far north as West Galveston Bay or as far south
as the Rio Grande.
In addition to his reputation as being one
of the Lone Star States most popular and knowledgeable
guides, Scott has also made a name for himself as an outdoor
photographer and writer.
His credits can been seen in numerous national and regional
fishing and hunting magazines such as Salt Water Sportsman,
Texas Parks and Wildlife, Shallow Water Angler, Florida Sportsman,
Tide, Fly Fishing in Salt Waters, Sport Fishing and Saltwater
Fly Fishing magazines and in the Lone Star Outdoor News.
Through his photography work, which has taken
him to numerous North and Central American locations, Scott
has had the opportunity to become a more rounded and versatile
angler. He has fished the entire Gulf Coast from Brownsville
to the Florida Keys and from the Keys to Maine learning everything
that he can about new techniques that he can bring to his
home waters to make everyday more productive and satisfying
for his customers.
It is his relentless search for angling knowledge
that has propelled Scott to the top in the world of salt water
fishing and in the Texas Outdoors
